Define the Post Scope

Editorial

Share the script, interview transcripts, selects and reference edits. Name the decision-maker for each language version and agree how review notes will be consolidated.

Color

Provide camera formats, reference looks and any on-set LUTs. Agree the color workflow and viewing conditions with the finishing team and the receiving platform.

Finishing

List conform, graphics, cleanup and mastering tasks separately. Confirm resolution, frame rate and export requirements against the recipient's delivery specification.

From Shanghai Shoot to Finishing

  1. Collect camera and sound reports, original file names and the approved edit reference.
  2. Confirm that the receiving editor can relink the supplied media and open the agreed interchange format.
  3. Agree the color workflow, reference look and any separate delivery versions before grading.
  4. Approve a short test export before committing the full set of masters.

If your project requires ACES, HDR or a specific platform package, include the technical specification in the enquiry so capability, scope and cost can be confirmed.

Audio & Subtitles

  • List dialogue languages, voiceover needs and required mix or stem files.
  • Name the reviewer for Mandarin and English terminology, names and brand wording.
  • Specify burned-in captions or separate subtitle files, plus any clean versions needed for another market.

For national projects, see China Video Production Fixer.

Media Handling & Review Access

  • Agree the transfer method, file verification and who keeps the source-media backup.
  • Identify authorized reviewers and any confidentiality or access restrictions before sharing material.
  • Set retention and archive responsibilities, including the date and format of the final handover.
