Filming Locations in Guangzhou

Huacheng Square & Zhujiang New Town

The city’s central axis with cultural landmarks and skyline views. We schedule run‑of‑show and handle square/management approvals.

Canton Tower Riverside

Iconic 600‑m tower and Pearl River vistas—great for establishing shots and night sequences. Plan crowd control and lighting packages.

Shamian Island (Liwan)

European‑era façades, leafy boulevards and plazas—ideal for fashion and doc b‑roll. Requires heritage permits and considerate scheduling.

Guangzhou Opera House

Zaha Hadid’s twin‑boulder architecture beside the Pearl River. Venue coordination, power and reflections control via coordination.

Chen Clan Academy

Qing‑era halls, courtyards and ornate ridges—textured interiors and exteriors for cultural stories. We arrange museum/site permissions.

Baiyun Mountain

City panoramas from Moxing Ridge; nature cutaways close to town. We prep mobile kits and weather contingencies.

Pearl River night cruises and Haixinsha Island offer additional skyline angles—ask our China fixer team to scout vantage points.

Aerial & Compliance

Drones

We book licensed UAV teams, file flights, and assess airspace restrictions. Standard limits apply without special CAAC clearance (~120 m AGL). We also plan safe lift‑off/landing zones.

Visas, Carnets & Insurance

We advise on media/film visas and ATA Carnet for temporary gear import, and provide Chinese‑language support letters. For fast turnarounds, use local kit rental with tech checks.

Seasonality & Scheduling

Weather window

Humid‑subtropical with hot, rainy summers and a long monsoon (roughly April–September). Cooler, drier windows usually fall in late autumn.

Lighting & look

Expect humidity and frequent cloud cover—soft, flattering light for interviews; plan neg fill and waterproofing in peak monsoon months.

Access & Logistics

Airport

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) sits ~30–35 km from downtown depending on your destination. We coordinate pick‑ups, carnet handling, and courier runs.

Crew base

Our Guangzhou fixer team staffs bilingual producers, fixers and dept. leads, with reinforcements from Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing as needed. Drivers, vans and office kits available.
