FIBA World Cup China — Expert Broadcast & Production Support by Alchemist Films

In 2019, China hosted the FIBA Basketball World Cup for the first time—a landmark moment for the country’s fast-growing sports industry. Held from August 31 to September 15 across eight major cities, the tournament brought together the world’s top basketball nations, culminating in the finals at Beijing’s Wukesong Arena.

As a trusted fixer and production support company based in China, Alchemist Films was proud to support the FIBA World Cup both before and during the tournament. Our team was on the ground in Shenzhen to assist with the World Cup Draw Ceremony, delivering full production support and on-site management for this high-profile international broadcast.

From coordinating lights and staging to managing celebrity appearances and working closely with the live broadcast team, we ensured the ceremony ran smoothly from start to finish. Serving as the floor manager and video producer in Shenzhen, we provided bilingual, on-the-ground expertise to bridge communication between international clients and local vendors.

Once the tournament began, Alchemist Films expanded its role by supporting more than 300 international television crew members across multiple host cities. We assisted in setting up live broadcasts and managing arena-level video feeds, ensuring seamless coverage for millions of viewers around the world.

This global event not only showcased the best in international basketball, but also China’s growing ability to host and support world-class sports productions. For us, it was an honor to contribute to FIBA’s mission to grow the global basketball community—and a chance to demonstrate the power of professional, reliable production support in China.
