Working behind the scenes during the actual games, over three hundred television crew members were supported in setting up live broadcasts across the tournament’s eight host cities. The role also included acting as the video producer for the Shenzhen arena.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, the 18th edition of the tournament, took place in China from August 31 to September 15, 2019. The event showcased international basketball on a grand stage.
The tournament spanned eight cities in China, culminating in the final at Beijing’s Wukesong Arena. France emerged victorious, winning the bronze medal after eliminating the United States, the previous two-time winners, in the quarterfinals.
This historic event was China’s first time hosting the FIBA Basketball World Cup. It provided a platform to promote basketball within the country and spotlight China’s flourishing sports industry. The tournament also served FIBA’s mission to elevate international basketball and broaden its global audience.
