Shanghai production for Burger King’s employee film.
Alchemist Films coordinated the Shanghai shoot for Freeflow Productions, the Singapore production company behind the film. We handled scouting, location arrangements, local crew, equipment, transport and on-set coordination across restaurant filming, employee interviews and the team’s football scenes.

The film also moves onto a football pitch at night. The change of setting gives the employee story another visual register, alongside the interviews and restaurant coverage.
Coordinating Burger King’s Shanghai shoot
The production combined restaurant activity, employee interviews and football coverage. Our local work connected those settings with the crew, equipment and developing shooting plan.
A local team around the travelling production
Freeflow brought the director, producer and cinematography team from Singapore. Alchemist organised the Shanghai side: locations, local crew, equipment, transport and on-set coordination. During preparation, we worked through the local crew and equipment requirements with Freeflow and revised the package as responsibilities were clarified. The restaurant and football coverage belonged to one production, with a local team supporting the visiting filmmakers across both settings.
Restaurant and football locations planned together
The location discussion connected restaurant options, football pitches and where the travelling crew would stay. Freeflow needed the outlet locations to assess hotel distance, and the proposed preparation placed the restaurant and pitch recce before the production meeting. Alchemist handled the scouting and location arrangements, with transport coordinated around the places the shoot needed to reach.
Room for practical changes after the recce
Freeflow circulated a tentative call sheet before the recce, keeping room for location-specific adjustments. Its creative team considered store-opening details, window cleaning and a café or vehicle setting for an employee study moment. We coordinated the local preparation and circulated the call sheet to the Shanghai team. These were working options in the shooting plan; the final film combines employee interviews with restaurant activity and football scenes.
Keeping the local team connected to the film
Our coordination carried through the Shanghai shoot and the team’s departure. Freeflow continued the post-production work and later shared two subtitled versions, with and without a summary, which we received. The completed film brings together the wider production; Alchemist’s contribution was the local filming support, crew, locations, equipment and logistics in Shanghai.
