Multi-city China production support for Alibaba’s IPO roadshow film
As Alibaba prepared for its New York Stock Exchange listing, the roadshow film used interviews and observational scenes to explore how e-commerce was changing work, logistics and daily life across China. Alchemist Films supported our client with story research, contributor outreach, a location and contributor scout with the director, multi-location planning, regional crews and equipment, and on-the-ground production coordination.

A roadshow story spanning offices, logistics and everyday life
Turning research into a workable route
The story moved between company offices, logistics operations and remote communities around Yushu, Qinghai. Contributor access, geography and production logistics therefore had to be planned as one route.
Alchemist Films combined research, the scout with the director and local production planning so the filming team could move from interviews to observational scenes without separating the story from the practical realities of each location.
